Missing Ah Po :)

The grief of loss is the price we pay for the gift of love. - Josh Groban.  Saw this quote in Josh Groban's instagram post when he lost his old dog, Sweeney.  I find it soooo true.  I'm grieving the loss of Ah Po because of the love we shared.  In fact, it's probably the stronger the love, the deeper the grief.  This gave me new eyes and heart to allow and welcome the grief, because it's only the proof of something precious I have and treasure, i.e the love :)  So, the grief of loss is the price we pay for the gift of love.  If I have to do it again, I'll give my all to love again. I'm willing to pay the price again.  And I'm learning to be thankful for both because they only make me human.  Two days ago I made this dish while missing Ah Po - three layered pork with fermented bean curds (Furu) and fucuk.  She used to make this when I was little.  I wasn't a big fan of it because it's sweet, but it just reminds me of her.  Her t...

QQ Happy Birthday! Thank you for your love.  谢谢你,过去34年来从来没有忘记过我的生日。

Yay! Off Day Family Outing

It's been a while since we have gathered.  Enjoyed the swim (more of just splashing actually), shooting random photos, having a game of snooker and simple dinner. Then back home, Travis and ah po played their favourite game.  It's been a relaxing day. So blessed to be in this family. And I think we should do this more often.

Mommy's Homecook

So blessed to have home cooked food to bring to work. Delicately prepared, especially when mom knows I don't like to have anything with bones, she de-bone the fishes for me. ^^ 13.02.2015 My 3-tier lunch box cake of the day.  Breakfast lunch dinner. Was working full day today. ^^ 12.02.2015 Fried fish in tomato sauce and acar.... sooo good! 10.02.2015 Fried fish, broccoli, fried egg.  ALL my favourites ^^

Milk Hunt

Our store was running out of milk. While I was working and couldn't go out myself, my sister and daddy help went out to supermarkets to help me hunt and buy milk. Feel so pampered and blessed.

Gratitude Day 8

1. Thank God my off day fell on a public holiday so I can be home when my sister is home (I barely see her when I'm working) and our whole family can have dinner together.  Also thank God for a good boss who didn't request me to go back work today because it was a busy day. 2. Thank God I'm healthy where I can cook for my family and help out with chores around the house. 3. Thank God for the cool comfy rainy weather. 4. Thank God Ah Po still can walk on her own and go out with us.  Thank God for good parking spaces whenever I bring Ah Po out.  I KNOW these are NOT coincidence. 5. Thank God parents back from Marudi trip safely and heard stories of how they had a good time there. 6. Thank God for parents' close friends esp Uncle Choo Sin and Uncle De Xin family who occassionally drop by our place to hang out with my parents and giving us lots of joy and laughter and good company. 7. Thank God for my cosy craft room and the quiet evening where I can have some q...

Gratitude Challenge Day 7

Thank God for:  1. This awesome snack made by my sister.  My late night after work supper. 2. My dog gave birth safely to 5 puppies today. 3. Ah po who is well aware of my whereabouts and even what time I go to bed.  My off days are often booked by her to do this do that.  And she will nag me ask me do this do that.  Even though it can be annoying at times when she nags a lot and often I feel obligated to share my off day with her, but I'm glad she does cause this means she is well and her mind is still very clear.  she is aware when her stuff is finishing and need to stock up.  She still can hand wash her own cloths.  She still can water the plants and pretty much take care of herself.   She often still wana cook a dish for us.  Even though it can be quite troublesome preparing everything for her just the way she wants it, I'm vry glad she still feels like doing something and making things for people. I'm very very thankful for ...

It's Okay to be Broken

The reno guys took down the garage roof which has been standing for the past 30 years.  Our home kinda looks broken now but its meant for the better.  This picture makes me think of life in general, where everybody has a dark side and is broken in some way, but its okay cuz despite our brokenness, God still loves us unconditionally and eternally and very often we are broken so that we can humbly bring glory to Him.   Love this picture.  Dad was cleaning the debris with a sore swollen leg.  Truly think I have a great dad ^^ On the street, where we live.

Family Tea Time

Brought family to the Ruffles for tea today.  Thankful for off day.  Was trying to decide whether to bring them out for tea and spend some family time or give myself some "me-time" and make some cards.  I can pretty selfish when it comes to time because I kinda need lone time to recharge.  And its not often I get off days so I find it really precious and will think twice who I share it with.  I only can afford to give time to people who matters. I'm glad I did.  Time well spent :)

Down Came our Mango Tree :(

Dad decided to cut down the mango tree and build a bigger roof around the house, mainly as shelter for rain.  Felt rather sad about cutting it down as it has been a part of our home all these years and bears good fruit.  But sometimes need to sacrifice some temporary stuff for more permanent stuff - many a times like our lives, i.e to undergrow some 'pruning' to grow better, or to better prepare for permanent things.  Neways, I'm thankful they didnt cut all the way so it still has a chance to grow back again.  I hope it will bear better fruit in the future.  Also, I'm thankful for a dad who takes good care of the house and our family... always preparing things for us.   Rather admire this Indonesian worker.  He is fast, hardworking, not greedy and doesnt complain at all.  The tree was full of red ants.  It took him many rounds to cut down the whole tree and he did it with very positive attitude.  And when offer coconut drinks, he di...

Grandma Birthday

Celebrated her 80th birthday today.  Thank God for another year of togetherness.  He is good.  Love the pictures, love the smiles.  Praying for more to come :)
