Card Making Workshop @ Pandan - Preparation

I'll be giving a workshop at Pandan Youth Fellowship tonight and thought of sharing my preparation process here ^^. Since the valentines card swap, brothers and sisters have shown interest in card making and our president suggested that I open a class. So I accepted and this is will be what I'm going to teach tonight. I'm going to teach stamping, embossing, punching and ribbon tying.
Card Stock: Mud Pie, Stone, French Vanilla

Patterned Paper: Urban Lily - Pretty in Pink, American Crafts - Sixth Avenue, Write Out Collection - Promenade Pinwheel, Write Out Collection - Promenade Petticoat

Stamps: Jehovah Blessings (self designed), SU - Enjoy Every Moment

Ink: Versa Color - White, Versa Chalk - Gingerbread

Others: White embossing powder, black ribbon with silver edge, scallop punch, 1" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, L sized edge punch, heat tool, lighter

So I chose brown as the main color as it's easy to match and it just goes with everything else.
Since I chose a simple plain layout (I figure its better for beginners), I chose patterned papers with more complicated designs.
And tools that'll be used. Oh I missed out the lighter (for burning the edges of the ribbons ^^) edge punch, and the stamps. Oops! I'll add another picture if I have time later. Haha.
I got all the 'ingredients" ready for packing. This is to make the class session easier and more organized.
And here we go. These babies are ready. I'll post more of the class after this. So stay tuned ^^

Scrapbooking Stores in Malaysia

Last updated 14th March 2014 I first did this research back in 2008.  I was very surprised and excited to find scrapbooking and craft shops blooming in Malaysia. I'm still grateful that we Malaysians are able to have have access to buy these supplies today.  I hope we will be able to get more and more brands into Malaysia.  ^^ I don't mind sharing these info as I believe "Sharing is Caring" and I would love to see more Malaysian crafters coming out with lovely production to enhance our local crafting market.  Also, I hope you all would pass on the information to other fellow beginners ^^ Anyways, this is a recent update I did of the shops I know/found.  Don't think its complete though.  Some are shops that I've personally found and visited while others are from research and some are recommended by friends or readers of my blog.  And from my very own personal experience, some of my personal favourite shops (in no particular order) are as belo...

The Power of Positive Thinking

WARNING: This is a Looooooong Post :P I'm reading a book titled "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. Actually this is a book i bought on 20th July, 2002 and didn't finish it for some reasons that I don't remember. Then lately, out of the blue, I took it out to read it all over again, hopefully being able to finish it this time :P Neways, that's the history of the book and me. I'm at chapter 2 now and I came across a very unique practice of a man. It reads: It is possible, even in the midst of your daily work, to drive confident thoughts into consciousness. Let me tell you about one man who did so by the use of a unique method. One icy winter morning he called for me at a hotel in a Midwestern city to take me about thirty-five miles to another town to fill a lecture engagement. We got into his car and started off at a rather high rate of speed on the slippery road. He was going a little faster than I thought reasonable, and I reminded h...

Taiwan (Taipei) Trip 2013

We had a visit to Taipei September 2013, mainly to visit an old friend of my dad, Uncle Nam Boo and his wife.  It was a first time to Taiwan for all of us (mum, dad, sis and me).  Since Aunty Xiao Lan is a local, they KNOW where to bring us, for beautiful places and good food.  They even shared their home with us so we didn't have to worry about accomodation and drove us almost EVERYWHERE, so we didn't have to worry about transport.  Also they applied leave from work so they could bring us around.  We were really touched by their gestures and also we enjoyed spending time with them.  It was such an enjoyable and memorable trip that we all look forward to visit Taiwan again.     I compiled our travel pictures into 2 photobooks (as slides below) and plan to give them one set a thank you gift.  I designed the photobook using Photobook Malaysia  and the Snapshot ready template.  First thought of sharing as pictures, but the...
