Last Christmas: Christmas Cards & Gifts I Received

This year, oops I mean last year, I had an abundant harvest :P I received gifts and cards from family and friends. Thanks to everybody who bring joy to my life, especially friends from overseas making an effort to post them to me. I'm always very excited to receive something for me in the mailbox instead of bills and advertisements. Anyways would like to share my happiness with whoever dropping by :)

First, with no fail ever since I was born, are presents from my parents. This year I got a nice necklace and bangle. Finally got a necklace to hang my 21st year old "key". Well, a bit too late (not too old, mind you) to wear it after 6 years, but I'm still glad I get to wear it. Hahaha. This year I also had a lovely gift from my sister - Clear Stamps!!!...... So thoughtful of her to get me something I really love and that it was getting near Chinese New Year, she got me something very asian. Lovely~~~
This is the first christmas card I received this year. Its from Grace @ London. The santa is a magnet!! Isn't that cool? Hehehe. And even the cute stripped envelope and snow white queen stamp is nice. Love 'em all.
Then I got this simple card from Marlene @ Beijing, but its wierd that the mail comes from Miri, Malaysia though, keep forgetting to ask her HOW. Hahaha. Very nice as usual. She's great with color matching.
Every year Pandan will organize Christmas carolling. And every year we will go to Zi Ping family's place. AND every year everyone of his guest will receive a present. This year is a nice white mug (perfect feel for coffee :p). His wife, Ze Ming, one of the most creative ladies I've ever met, wrapped the mug in red and green 纱布'sha bu' (something like transparent cloth, sorry I don't know the word for it). And the wrapping creates a nice pattern. Diligently nice, simple & elegant too I would say.
Ahui bought many beautiful 3D cards this year. These cards are from Taiwan, very creative the way the 3D graphics are designed, and very cheap! They are ideal for decorations on desktops and christmas trees too. I received 2 from him, which he wrote in front of me some more :p, but old buddies liao, nevermind la. Hahaha. Aren't they fancy??
Iggy and Yvonne got this cute santa for everybody in Pandan Youth Fellowship. Many of them worked really hard for the christmas celebration program so this was also their intention as a token of appreciation.
Audrey @ Melbourne posted a card and a christmas gift for me. But haizzz, it got lost in the air. However its the thought that counts and I'm still very thankful for them eventhough I still don't know what the gift is. Thanks Yiing!

Scrapbooking Stores in Malaysia

Last updated 14th March 2014 I first did this research back in 2008.  I was very surprised and excited to find scrapbooking and craft shops blooming in Malaysia. I'm still grateful that we Malaysians are able to have have access to buy these supplies today.  I hope we will be able to get more and more brands into Malaysia.  ^^ I don't mind sharing these info as I believe "Sharing is Caring" and I would love to see more Malaysian crafters coming out with lovely production to enhance our local crafting market.  Also, I hope you all would pass on the information to other fellow beginners ^^ Anyways, this is a recent update I did of the shops I know/found.  Don't think its complete though.  Some are shops that I've personally found and visited while others are from research and some are recommended by friends or readers of my blog.  And from my very own personal experience, some of my personal favourite shops (in no particular order) are as belo...

The Power of Positive Thinking

WARNING: This is a Looooooong Post :P I'm reading a book titled "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. Actually this is a book i bought on 20th July, 2002 and didn't finish it for some reasons that I don't remember. Then lately, out of the blue, I took it out to read it all over again, hopefully being able to finish it this time :P Neways, that's the history of the book and me. I'm at chapter 2 now and I came across a very unique practice of a man. It reads: It is possible, even in the midst of your daily work, to drive confident thoughts into consciousness. Let me tell you about one man who did so by the use of a unique method. One icy winter morning he called for me at a hotel in a Midwestern city to take me about thirty-five miles to another town to fill a lecture engagement. We got into his car and started off at a rather high rate of speed on the slippery road. He was going a little faster than I thought reasonable, and I reminded h...

Taiwan (Taipei) Trip 2013

We had a visit to Taipei September 2013, mainly to visit an old friend of my dad, Uncle Nam Boo and his wife.  It was a first time to Taiwan for all of us (mum, dad, sis and me).  Since Aunty Xiao Lan is a local, they KNOW where to bring us, for beautiful places and good food.  They even shared their home with us so we didn't have to worry about accomodation and drove us almost EVERYWHERE, so we didn't have to worry about transport.  Also they applied leave from work so they could bring us around.  We were really touched by their gestures and also we enjoyed spending time with them.  It was such an enjoyable and memorable trip that we all look forward to visit Taiwan again.     I compiled our travel pictures into 2 photobooks (as slides below) and plan to give them one set a thank you gift.  I designed the photobook using Photobook Malaysia  and the Snapshot ready template.  First thought of sharing as pictures, but the...
