SHERA'S BORDER

For Esther's birthday, I handmade a card for her using the recycled paper that contains the wrapping paper she used to wrap my birthday present last month (You can view details of the handmade recycled paper here - Batch #007 ).  I like to do this as I feel it gives the card a little extra meaning, that the card actually contains certain contributes of the receiver :)  I'm choosing purple as this is her favourite color.  Esther is also a fellow card maker too who always handmade cards and write  little notes to encourage others.  So sweet right?  I'm also entering this for:  Winged Things Ingredients: Card Stock: SU - Purple (forgot the exact name) and Crumb Cake Recycled Paper: Grey wrapping paper, milk carton  ( Batch #007 ) Butterflies: Embosslits Beautiful Wings Texture: SU/Sizzix - Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die Stamps: Unity Stamp (Unity Artista Collection) - Faith, SU - Occassional Quotes Ink...

During my birthday last month, my sweet friend Esther gave me my present wrapped in this sweet pokka-greyish wrapping paper.  It was her birthday last week and so I thought of recycling the wrapping paper and make a card for her.   I started with just the wrapping paper and milk carton paper.  I made like 3 pieces of paper using just these. After that, I thought of making things a little bit more interesting by adding my patterned paper scraps.  Also I started adding some toilet paper roll to give it a little brown... but it makes the scraps colors less obvious though. And finally on the last few pieces, I added some coffee grounds of my recent brew :) And these are the dried outcome.  I like the plain white ones just with the wrapping paper and I use that to make the card for Esther.  Gonna blog about the card in the next post :D

I made this card for teacher josephine as a thank you, not just for the tea she gave me, but mainly for always thinking about me and caring.  She's always a great company to be with.  Always enjoy talking and sharing everyday life events with her.  I used recycled paper from Batch #006 which contains the tea she gave me.  Its a pretty rugged card, hope she will like it.  ^^   Ingredients: Card Stock: Popular Ivory Card Recycled Paper: Batch #006 (Background), Milk Carton (White Flower) Stamp: SU - Whimsical Words, SU - Sanded Ink: VersaFine Vintage Sepia Other Materials (no specific brand): Purple Ribbon, Lace, Button, String, Pink Flower, Brown Brads Other tools: Sewing Machine, Corner Punch, Flower Dies (for white flower petals)

For my birthday last month, Carlos got me some V60 coffee filters wrapped in this wrapping paper.  I find it a waste to throw it away and decided to add it into my recycled paper project Batch #006.  Also teacher Josephine got me some very nice Stassen brand jasmine green tea, I added them into part of the mixture as well. The main process of the whole project is shown in pictures below, which are quite self-explanatory.

Today I challenged myself to use left over recycled paper scraps from Card No. CD140325-1210 .  The pink pieces were smaller so I used them to die cut butterflies.  As for the left over of Batch #3 (consisting of Japanese Sencha with Cherry Blossoms tea leaves), I combined it one of the pure milk carton recycled paper to make the background.  I made this for Ming Li, one of our anchors in Live Wire Charge Up 2014 for our song writing class.  She really inspired me tonnes in her singing ministry and I'm so blessed to have got to know her.  It's a belated birthday card though, hope she likes it.  Also I made this for Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday Challenge of HAPPY BIRTHDAY   and The Card Concept Challenge #7 - Use a Butterfly Theme   (Style: Classy and Elegant). Last Christmas, my first Singaporean friend, Mel, bought me some very 'atas' (meaning 'high quality' in Singaporean-Malay) Gryhpon tea in assorted blends.  The tea tasted really good with very fine flavours and since the tea leaves/flowers have been hand-picked, they looked good too.  So I thought of giving myself a little challenge by adding them into my recycle paper projects.   Then for her birthday last week, I used these recycle papers produced from the tea leaves to make a birthday card for her.  Since it has a button on it, I thought of trying it out on Simon Says Stamp Blog 's Wednesday Challenge of ANYTHING GOES WITH BUTTONS .      Ingredients: Card Stock & Papers: Stampin' Up!
