Sending Out Cards

My kind of therapy ^^

Finally! Organized my postcards! ^^

This is one of those things which I've always wanted to do but just kept on hold because there is always something more important and urgent to do. But this is something I think about doing everyday! (I know you might think I'm crazy). I'd tell myself wait till you have some free time then you do this but the thing is ill NEVER have free time.  So today despite having 'more important' things on the list, I decided to 'make myself free' and go ahead and organize my pile.  I sorted them, numbered them, make sure they are dated, and arranged them. What a relief to get it organized finally. 104 postcrossing cards, 12 direct swaps, and some others from families and friends. Thinking of starting a postcard blog to document them... Fingers crossed. ^^ neways, so glad to get this done. Scanning next! Yay!

Rugged Elegance

I made a new friend recently from postcrossing and I am really touched by her story to foster then adopt a kid.  There is just so much love in her :)  She showed interest in my cards and I promised to make one for her.  Since Mother's Day is near, I thought of making her a mother's day card.  I played around with my handmade recycled paper and distress inks.  Find it pretty fun and unintentionally created a little rugged elegance, which I would never thought of putting together.  Just posted this out and this card is gonna be belated though using snail mail.  Hope she likes it and has a very special mother's day this year :)  Ingredients: Card Stock: Popular Card - Ivory Recycled Paper: Batch 006 Stamp: SU - Teeny Tiny Wishes, SU - Trust God Ink: VersaFine - Vintage Sepia Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogany, Tea Dye, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed Texture: SU/Sizzix - Manhattan Flower Dies: SU/Sizzix - Embosslit...

Let a Smile be Your Umbrella

I had a direct swap request from a postcrosser and I decided to handmade postcards for her since she likes art.  I'm glad she likes the idea too.  Anyways, I used 2 challenges as a direction to make my first card.  Since one of them has the theme of "Umbrella", I decided to try out one of my newly bought second hand stamps with an umbrella.  Looove it!  However, as I was taking the picture in the afternoon with not very good sunlight, the color is a bit off.  Sorry about that.  And so I'm entering this postcard for challenges below: Card Concept #8 - Use an Umbrella Free Style Collage Seize the Sketch #18 Ingredients: Card Stock: Popular Card - Grey, Espresso & Ivory Patterned Paper: Jillibean - Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup Stamp: SU - Font of You Ink: VersaFine - Vintage Sepia Other Materials (No brand): Pink Flower Petals

Outgoing Postcards Today and Nokia is from Finland!!

Just a little post about my outgoing postcards today and a little something I learnt from it.  One of them is going to a town called Nokia in Finland.  I have always known Nokia as the mobile phone brand, which I always thought originated from USA.  When I saw the address of the town of Nokia in Finland, I googled to find that actually Nokia, the mobile phone brand, is actually from Finland!  Gosh, so little did I know. LOL.  Neways, hope the postcrossers will like these cards ^^          Meanwhile I also sent out some postcards and cards to my friends.  I love snail mails~! ^^

Happy Mail Day~! ^^ Card #68

I received three cards yesterday and guess what? I got another one today! Such a cute doggie ^^  Neways, I especially love the stamp on the card showing the Stolzenfels Castle with such an interesting history to it. "Finished in 1259, Stolzenfels was used to protect the toll station at the Rhine, where the ships, back then were the main transport for goods, had to stop and pay toll. Over the years it was extended several times, occupied by French and Swedish troops in the Thirty Years' War and finally, in 1689, destroyed by the French during the Nine Years' War. For 150 years the ruins decayed, until in 1815 they were given as a present to Frederick William IV of Prussia by the city of Koblenz. Following the romantic traditions, the prince started to completely rebuild the castle after 1826 as a summer residence. Supported by famous neoclassic architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the castle was completely remodeled in the then fashionable neo-Gothic style, aiming to cre...

Happy Mail Day~! ^^ Card #65, 66 and 67

Yay! Coffee Card!!!! ^^ Love the multiple stamps too! ^^  This is my first Turkish card.  The card shows Ayasofya ( Hagia Sophia )  which is a former Greek Orthodoxpatriarchal basilica (church), later an imperial mosque, and now a museum inIstanbul, Turkey. From the date of its construction in 537 until 1453, it served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople,[1] except between 1204 and 1261, when it was converted to a Roman Catholic cathedral under the Latin Empire. The building was a mosque from 29 May 1453 until 1931. It was then secularized and opened as a museum on 1 February 1935.   (p/s: Text in Italics extracted from Wikipedia ) Initially I thought its some kind of palace or something until I googled it.  This is what I love about postcrossing.  So much to learn about things all over the world.  ^^ And check out this handsome horse!!!! Wow...... wish I could stroke his hair. ...

Happy Mail Day ^^ - Card #63 and #64

Happy mails always make my day!  I love looking at the world through postcards, reading stories of people who are on the other side of the earth.  There is always something interesting to find out about.  I feel connected in a distant kind of way and I like that.

Happy Mail Day ^^ - Direct Swap

Happy Mail Day~! ^^ - Card #61

After a long 2 weeks ++ wait, this came in the mail today.  Yay! So thoughtful of Renee to choose something with planes and pikachu on it.  And don't you find her handwriting simply amazing?  So uniquely neat that it can be a font!  Also appreciate the way she printed my address and postcard ID on water proof stickers and even put a note on the ID aquisition date, posting date and even the 228th card sent!! I love details like this, shows the heart of the sender ^^
