Grey Scale Wedding Cards

Happy Birthday Amy

Amy's (a sister from Pandan) birthday was last week. Made her this little card using my 2nd batch of recycled paper :) Basically, i treated this card like a shoe where I did the strings like a five-year-old tying shoe laces - getting all the holes wrong....Hehehe....

Recycled Paper - Batch No. 2

I had so much fun with my first batch that I tried out a second batch the week after. I've been collecting our church's program leaflet for 3 years i think. These leaflets are printed both sides and pretty much useless after I copy down the scriptures. So I had an idea to use them to make recycled paper and below is my outcome. Not bad ey? You'll find chinese characters here and there tho :P And to spice it up a little bit, I added some punched shapes and strings to some papers in this batch. Still wondering how I can make cards with the ones that have punched shapes but looking forward to it...Hehehe.... I made one card with a plain one. Will show it in my next post :)

I've got M@il ^^

I had a surprise when I reached home and check my mail box today. There was an envelope inside with my name hand written on it. Yep, you know what that means... its neither one of those electricity or credit card bills, nor any of those advertisements crap... its snail mail for me baby! ^^ This pleasant surprise is from Agnes . She handmade me a card (oh so nice~) and a pair of earrings too ^^. Then she got me some charms and mini wooden pegs. She knew I was looking for the pegs and bot some for me. So thoughtful of her :) Well Agnes, I know you are not a christian, but to me, you are my God sent angel today :) Thanks for making my day. God bless you. Hehehe. As always, some pictures to share below. Hope my big face picture won't scare you :P

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

I made a hard decision this week, but thank God that HE knows my doubts and fears and gave me the assurance to go on. When I'm depressed or angry, I like to listen to some good old hard rock music, and as loud as possible to the limit without bothering my neighbours though :P So I played my 'rock' playlist while making a card for a friend. Then, this song came along...... 'Somewhere over the rainbow' by Chris Impellitteri. It reminds me of my desire for my dreams - that my dreams are somewhere out there, over the rainbow perhaps :) It also reminds me that just by standing there admiring the rainbow wont get me any closer to it. What I need to do now is learn how to fly. p/s: gin li & G-yiing, thanks for being there for me during this time. You girls have been and will always be the greatest blessing to me ^^ I tried finding a video of this song, this is the best I could find.

Handcraft Swap

I joined this handcraft swap organized by Agnes . I like the idea to share what you handmake, especially with someone who's also into handmade crafts and would appreciate the work and thought in creating the gift. My swapping partner is Evelyn , who also handmake wonderful cards. There are still not that many card makers around.. therefore I'm so glad that my partner is one! ^^ I made her a framed art and a card to say Hi :) Hope she'll like it.

Fishers of Men

Made another simple quick card as an encouragement for a brother in fellowship who graduated the Evangelism course in our church. Added a fishy clip as symbol of fishers of men ^^

Fun with Recycled Paper ^^

I saw this recycle paper making tutorial from Luthien and I couldnt resist trying it. Oh.. it was so fun.... and I couldn't wait for it to dry and make some cards with these babies. Last night with about 20% of the batch which were dry already.. I made these 2 cards. One is for a friend, (as en encouragement in her first job ^^ ) while the other one has no owner at the moment and is uploaded in my shop for sale :)
