Joy of Giving

During my shopping spree at Petaling Street last week, I came across some unique buttons and had a "touching" to buy for Marlene as well since I'm going to see her soon. She is so generous, always giving me candies (rubber stamps, brads, cards...).... my brads from her are only like 10% used. So you can imagine how generous she is. I have always felt I don't deserve so nice things as I don't have things that are so fancy to return the favour. I was toking about "giving and receiving" with Sandy who reminded me that giving is not measured by the value but by the heart. Even Jesus praised the little woman who gave only 2 little coins but was all that she had, compared to some guy who gave much more while bragging about it.

So, I thought to myself, I'm gonna give this not so fancy candy with ALL my heart.... that's why I specially make a box to put everything in with her favourite colors and her name on it. Giving her the box was one of the first things I really felt like doing after I landed in Miri. Yes, it's a joy to give. Many a times I feel a lot happier and more excited to give than receive. (chinese culture, paiseh wana receive things... LOL)

Scrapbooking Stores in Malaysia

Last updated 14th March 2014 I first did this research back in 2008.  I was very surprised and excited to find scrapbooking and craft shops blooming in Malaysia. I'm still grateful that we Malaysians are able to have have access to buy these supplies today.  I hope we will be able to get more and more brands into Malaysia.  ^^ I don't mind sharing these info as I believe "Sharing is Caring" and I would love to see more Malaysian crafters coming out with lovely production to enhance our local crafting market.  Also, I hope you all would pass on the information to other fellow beginners ^^ Anyways, this is a recent update I did of the shops I know/found.  Don't think its complete though.  Some are shops that I've personally found and visited while others are from research and some are recommended by friends or readers of my blog.  And from my very own personal experience, some of my personal favourite shops (in no particular order) are as belo...

The Power of Positive Thinking

WARNING: This is a Looooooong Post :P I'm reading a book titled "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. Actually this is a book i bought on 20th July, 2002 and didn't finish it for some reasons that I don't remember. Then lately, out of the blue, I took it out to read it all over again, hopefully being able to finish it this time :P Neways, that's the history of the book and me. I'm at chapter 2 now and I came across a very unique practice of a man. It reads: It is possible, even in the midst of your daily work, to drive confident thoughts into consciousness. Let me tell you about one man who did so by the use of a unique method. One icy winter morning he called for me at a hotel in a Midwestern city to take me about thirty-five miles to another town to fill a lecture engagement. We got into his car and started off at a rather high rate of speed on the slippery road. He was going a little faster than I thought reasonable, and I reminded h...
